Understanding Ourselves: An Artist List
These past few weeks, I have been attempting to articulate my thoughts surrounding the brutal murders of Black people. I have struggled to find the words which encapsulated my feelings, so I turned to music to find sanctuary and a sense of serenity. I use music to accompany the whirlwind of emotions I feel and as a form of healing. I decided to spend some time compiling a list of Black artists with lesser-known platforms to commemorate Black Music Month. Here’s a list of some of my personal favorites and recommendations from others in a variety of genres. Enjoy, my loves!
