The interest form for our Spring 2017 Learning Community is live! The Learning Community is a nine-week long discussion group that meets weekly throughout the semester. Our goals are to examine the ways we present – or don't present – our masculinities, so we can better understand how masculinity exists on our campus – often in toxic ways – and begin the work of unlearning violence. We want to explore, dissect, and construct an intersectional understanding of masculinity and maleness, as well as to create destabilized spaces for those with privilege.
Given our focus on masculinity and maleness, our programming is oriented towards engaging with male-identified or masculine-of-center students. However, The Duke Men’s Project’s core tenet is accountability - we want our work and mission to be both transparent and a continual work in progress. If you have feedback, criticism, questions, or just the desire to talk with us about the methodology behind the decisions we have facilitated and the language we have used, please use this form!! We will respond to you promptly, and you can fill it out anonymously if you want. https://goo.gl/forms/c3ksadB7DYQmvE5r1t
