To My Sisterhood

You are my home away from home:

Check ins,

Prayers,

And weekend adventures.

It amazed me how quickly friendship turned into family and family into forever.

I remember when I was crumbling into a million pieces and you built me back up with the shattered wreckage lying around,

And I thought to myself, “this must be god's work.”

You brushed away my fears and filled me with love,

Took the time to study my imperfections and remind me of my beauty.

Dark days used to swallow me whole, but now I feel a village erupt whenever I fall down.

A thank you could not merely capture the sunny days, smiles or laughter that persist in your presence,

But it will have to suffice for now.

Thank you, sis.
