Let me tell you
Mind
Let me tell you, inside this mind of mine is a whole universe of unguarded impulses. They cluster like constellations, shining brightest in the darkness of the night, when the pretenses fall off and fly away. When the make-up comes off, and the bonnet comes on. A touch of silk and I’m free.
Body
Holding all of this together is this body, clothed by this skin. This here is sacred, touched by the sun and browned, beautified. Let me tell you, when the sun and I dance, the music stops, time slows, and the angels of destiny blow the horns. They’ve been waiting for this awakening.
Soul
Completing this is a soul, heavy-burdened with dreams. In the dead of the night, the three convene, communicate, and when the day breaks, they try again. Again. Try again to carve themselves into the fabric of this society. Let me tell you, it looks like a sliver of hope in the sun-scorched desert.
