Chronicles of a Foodie: Italy

Ciao bellas! This past month I was blessed to visit Italy, and boy was it delicious. Having a partial Italian heritage, and growing up in New Jersey (aka center of all Italian food), means that pasta and pizza have always been a staple in my diet. Therefore, I’ve always dreamed of traveling to Italy, and was beyond excited to visit Rome and eat my heart out. And you already know that is exactly what I did! (I ate consistently every two hours, with no shame). It took me much discipline to make sure I took photos of my food before chowing down, but I did it for ya’ll so you could live vicariously through these photos! (Side note: all the food was a 10/10 so I am going to skip the ratings this time around) Buon appetito!

What: Spaghetti Bolognese

Restaurant: Le Lanterne

Side note: Amazing.

What: Penne alla Vodka

Restaurant: Ristorante wine-bar Fashion It

Side Note: Spectacular.

What: Marinara Pizza with Oregano

Restaurant: O’Pazzariello – Ristorante Pizzeria Forno a Legna

Side Note: Pizza without cheese is very common in Italy, and allows the freshness of the sauce to really shine! Try to order pizza with less cheese next time so that you can see if your favorite pizza is truly fresh! (This is a great test for all of you Dominos lovers!)

What: Cake batter gelato with nutella (Not the exact name, but that’s what it tasted like!)

Gelateria: Frigidarium

Side Note: This was the best gelato I’ve ever had in my life. Just saying.

What: Tiramisu

Restaurant: Ciao Bella

Side Note: The waiter gave us this dessert for free! I was excited.

What: Chocolate lava cake

Restaurant: La Lanterne

Side Note: Best chocolate lava cake I’ve ever had in my life.
