Sun Kissed

A journey

A road

With no compass

Or direction

But a want

To feel at ease

At peace

To feel the weight releasing from my shoulders

And my lungs finally breathing

But there is still tension in my fingertips

No air in my stride

A feeling of  uncertainness

And heaviness

To feel the weight of the world pulling me down

Clasping around my ankles as I drown

But when I start to give in

The sun appears

Never fully shining

Just peeking through

Reminding me it is there

To remind me of those moments of joy

The great feeling of laughter

To encourage me to collect my pain

And to bring it with me

To anchor me in love

And hold me tight

To challenge me to keep reaching for the light

And as I take on that challenge

Reaching out my hand

Feeling the warm rays touch my skin

Sending electricity through my body

Waves of hope fill my heart

And I now only remember being kissed by the sun

Pleading for me to hold on

Reminding me of my why, my purpose, my home
