A Life Worth Fighting For

You make me feel whole

Never searching for pieces

Grounded, Fixed, Settled

In tune with the melody of you

You are my security blanket

Warm and safe

Sometimes harsh and cold

You take as much as you give

The meaning of life is in your hands

You make mine feel meaningful

At least sometimes you do

Other times, those other times

You make it feel meaningless

Like what is life

If it can fit in a box

Or doesn’t fit

Or raise questions

Or makes us better

You push me to fight

To raise my fist and demand

Demand what I am worth

What you are worth

What we are worth

You make the world go round

My world is connected through dots of people, places, and not just things

You define and undefine

You leave our world raveled and unraveling

Oh how you turn the world upside down

In and out

You are my security blanket

Warm and safe

Sometimes harsh and cold

But without you, I would be stagnant

And life wouldn’t be a life worth fighting for
