Mom's Not a Doctor

Mom takes my finger

And pricks it with a needle:

Just one drop of blood.

“It cures my nausea!”

Friends listen in disbelief,

“Sounds like child abuse.”

But for me, it works.

Just one prick, one drop of blood.

And I feel anew.

Go to your doctor,

Trust your technology, but

Don’t insult my mom.

Just a little sting –  

It’s how we’ve always done it.

Hold your dirty looks.
